PROFESSIONAL & LIFE EXPERIENCES

I’m experienced with aligning strategic business objectives with user needs through my design approach.

I can also swing writing, digital and traditional marketing, project management, event marketing, public speaking, illustration, production management, social media strategy, and sales.

I’ve worked in healthcare, education, advertising, retail, and agriculture.

Organizations I’ve worked for include digital agency Klick, flower farm Hana Tropicals, L’Occitane en Provence, Just Eat, fashion start up SomKong, international online tutoring VIPKID, and the University of Toronto.

THE BASICS

I am passionate about designing experiences that improve people’s lives.

As the world continues to change at a breakneck pace, I want to use my socially conscious lens to design experiences that improve people’s lives. There’s nothing I’d rather be doing than solving problems one question, one sketch, and one conversation at a time.

I design because I care.

And caring is quite the super power; it produces really really good work.

I’m motivated by frustrations and curiosity.

Life is hard enough as it is, and some things just shouldn’t contribute to making it harder. The day to day friction I experience from wayfinding in the subway to the placement of my shower head inspire me to find solutions to reduce these frustrations, big and small.

Right now I’m working on research methods and better ways to connect insights to UX.

Through working in an agency environment, I’ve broadened my set of UX skills from usability testing to user interface design. My area of focus right now is deepening my knowledge of research methods and frameworks.

Oh, and I also love to doodle on the weekend, make all kinds of paper crafts, write poems, lead learning forums, garden, read fiction, and explore the city (such a hardcore Toronto fan - I have my library card number memorized!)
